About Upgrading Unified Assurance

Your Oracle Communications Unified Assurance upgrade path depends on the version you are upgrading from and your preferred approach for upgrading from Linux 7 to Linux 8.

See the following topics for information about the different upgrade paths:

About Upgrading to Linux 8

When upgrading to Unified Assurance version 6.0.4 or 6.0.5, you can choose to remain on Linux 7 or upgrade to Linux 8.

If you choose to remain on Linux 7, you update your environment instead of upgrading. See Updating Unified Assurance for information.

Oracle recommends upgrading to Linux 8. This offers the following advantages:

  • A longer support lifecycle, as Linux 7 reaches end of maintenance support.

  • Support for Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) compliance. For more information about how Unified Assurance supports FIPS compliance on Linux 8, see FIPS Compliance in Unified Assurance in Unified Assurance Security Guide.
